RS Challengers downed Kenuozou Wolves at the ongoing 10 Northern Angami-1 T20 Bash played at Kohima village Local ground.
Playing the third match of the day after a heavy shower, Challengers who were made to chase a target of 96, accomplished the target with ease.
A fine spell from Challengers’ Viketou (3-20) and Neipfhelie (2-37) made the Wolves’ batsmen suffer on a not-so-friendly wicket.
Viketou’s 3 wickets haul in four overs rewarded him with the ‘Man of the match.’ Chasing the target, Challengers also were supported by Shozenlo anchored the innings with a score of 28 runs. Tovi’s three wicket haul couldn’t turn the match in favour of Kenuozou Wolves.
Earlier in the second match, North Block Warriors overcame Lower L. Khel Vikings after the match was reduced to 15 overs.
The ‘man of the match’ Meren of L. Khel Vikings scored 85 runs in just 66 balls, but was not enough as the North Block Warriors chased the target with two overs left. Viking’s Saha contributed handsomely by scoring 31 runs in 19 balls.
Going by the fixture, Upper L. Khel Riders were to take on Chede Strikers in the first match, but the match was abandoned due to unavoidable circumstances. Following the decision to abandon the match, both the teams shared the points by earning 1 point each.
The last league match will be played tomorrow between P. Khel Eagles vs Middle Bayavü Lions at 7 am.
Meanwhile, the quarterfinal match will begin tomorrow at 10.30 am. In the first quarter, Upper L. Khel Riders will take on North Block Warriors, while Lower Bayavü Giants will play against RS Challengers in the second quarterfinal match at 2 pm.
