Kohima, Oct. 25 (EMN): Eight students from Nagaland have been selected to participate at 27th National Children’s Science Congress which will be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from December 27 to the 31st, 2019. Two other students have also been selected to participate at the Indian Science Congress to be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka from January 3 to the 7th next year.
The students were selected at the 27th State-Level National Children’s Science Congress held in the Gorkha Public Panchayat Hall Chandmari, Kohima on Thursday, October 24.
Students, who have been selected to participate at 27th National Children’s Science Congress in Thiruvananthapuram are: Senutolu Luruo from Government Middle School, Zion Phek Town whose project title is “Health status in Government Middle School, Zion, Phek: A cross sectional study”; Kalino H Yeptho from Cornerstone School, Zunheboto, on “Menstruation and impact on school-going girl”; Rükulü Nienu on “Plants that heals high BP and Ketouletuo Zhale on “Recycling of used tea leaves as manure”, both from Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima; Vibeli from Fernwood school, Kohima on “Traditional therapeutic leaves found in Nagaland”; Dindin from Zeliangrong Heraka School, Tening on “A study on the factors affecting the growth and development of sunflower plant”; Rumen Pongener from Livingstone Foundation International School, Dimapur on “A case study on Indigenous housing”; and Sulimi G Jakhalu from Cornerstone School, Zunheboto on “Impact of Traditional and cultural practices on Biodiversity”.
Two students, who will participate at the Indian Science Congress in Bengaluru, are: Ngosalu Venuh from Government Middle School, Zion Phek Town on the topic “Health status in Government Middle School, Zion, Phek: A cross sectional study” and Pooja Goswami from Cornerstone School, Zunheboto on “Menstruation and impact on school-going girl”.
The projects were evaluated by Md Jakir Ali, HOD of Statistics, Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma; Pallab Changkakoti, assistant professor of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma; and Sanjana Bardoloi, secretary of Mauchak UNESCO club, Dibrugarh, Assam.
