Dimapur, May 30 (EMN): Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) has appreciated the new team of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) under the leadership of Ninoto Awomi for its bold decision to take up the issue of backdoor appointment and Staff Selection Board (SSB) in the state of Nagaland. PSAN through its media cell pointed out that the inaction of concerned students’ bodies had prompted like-minded aspirants and educated unemployed youth to come outside their cocoon and form PSAN to fight on issues confronting them. PSAN was formed in 2016 to fight against corruption in the state services recruitment process. PSAN put on record that in the effort to seek justice, they had staged various forms of protest including “hunger strike” to achieve its goal. It had also submitted several petitions and representations to the government besides sitting across the table with government’s top brasses including the Governor, Chief Minister, cabinet ministers and Chief Secretary. It regretted that despite of all the efforts, the issue remained unfulfilled. PSAN mentioned that it had first submitted representation to the Governor on December 16, 2016, demanding for SSB in line with central SSC, followed with another representation to then chief ministers Dr. Surhozulie, on June 27, 2017, and to TR Zeliang on November 17, 2017. The recent being submitted the current Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, on June 25, 2018. PSAN is optimistic that mandated bodies like NSF joining the fight against corruption would come to fruition. It added that PSAN is every ready to extend all possible help towards NSF.
