KOHIMA — A poetry book titled 'Destined Apart,' written by Wedekhro Naro, was released by Teisovi Gerard Meyase, assistant professor and controller of examination at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, in Kohima on Saturday.
The book was the fourth in a row of Naro since his first book titled 'True love keeps moving' was released in 2018.
Naro disclosed that that the new book was one of ‘scariest’ books he had ever written saying it is ‘so personal.’ The book was dedicated to a friend in Kuwait, who inspired him to write the poems.
Talking about his writing journey, Naro shared that he never thought of writing books. However, during his elementary school days, he dreamt of becoming an author someday and his dream was achieved 12 years later when his debut book was published in 2018.
With three books already to his credit, Naro claimed all of his books were inspired by encounters and random thoughts.
He thanked the publisher of PenThrill Publication House, Vishü Rita Krocha, for recognising his work.
Meanwhile, Vishü Rita Krocha was of the view that women were predominantly at the forefront when it comes to writing and publishing in Nagaland. She, however, felt that there are still male writers, who wrote extensively and tremendously well on subject matters that are rather more serious. She stated that very few male writers deal with the kind of subjects that Naro writes about especially in the context of Nagaland.
The publisher remarked that Naro's new book was the ‘best yet’ and expressed hope that he would continue to contribute to the society using his gift for writing.
She further appealed to the gathering to continue supporting writers and storytellers and also be ambassadors for the growth of literature from Nagaland.
