Just a year after the Poco F1 took the Indian mid-range smartphone market by storm, Poco is back with a new offering for its Indian tech consumers - The Poco X2. Starting at just INR 15,999 for its base variant (6GB RAM and 64GB storage) it gives the Realme X2 a run for its money. Not only is the Poco X2 cheaper than the Realme X2 but it offers more RAM and a 120Hz LCD display. Mobile gamers must be rejoicing at the prospect of gaming on a high refresh rate display at such an incredible price. But then the Realme X2's AMOLED display offers more punchy and vibrant colours. It is no secret that the Poco X2 looks almost identical to the Redmi K30 4G (It has the same punch-hole design for the two selfie cameras and an identical four-camera setup at the back). But does it matter though? What matters is that you have a decision to make on which X2 to buy and here is our comparison of the two phones just to help you with your dilemma.
Both the Poco X2 and Realme X2 houses the Snapdragon 730G, an SoC that is tweaked especially for gaming purposes. The Adreno 618 GPU on the SoC with a 75MHz clock boost is more than capable of handling all the latest games comfortably in the highest settings.

Expect similar performances from both the phones in terms of everyday use and gaming as well. While both the phones are equally capable to give you a good experience, however, the Poco X2 with its liquid cooling and 120Hz display will provide you with the smoother gaming experience. In terms of UI, the Poco X2 offers a better-optimised UI with its Poco based MIUI 11. But the Realme X2 with its recent Realme UI update for Android 10 looks closer to stock android.
This is where the two phones greatly differ from each other. The Realme X2 offers a 6.4 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Poco X2, on the other hand, offers a 6.67 inch 120Hz refresh rate IPS LCD display and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. If you want eye-popping colours and deep blacks, pick the Realme X2. If you want a bigger display and a high refresh rate for gaming, pick the Poco X2.
The Poco X2 is identical to the K30. Yes, it is essentially a K30 with a different badge at the back. Nonetheless, the Poco X2 takes a step forward in the design front over the F1. Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and the rear provides a premium feel to the phone. Also, the rear panel has a high-gloss finish and you can get it in the colour of your choice. On the other hand, the Realme X2 borrows its design cues heavily from the Redmi XT and it looks great. It also offers Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both the front and the rear of the phone. The rear panel has a high gloss metal-like hyperbolic finish that is absolutely gorgeous. In terms of design, both phones look and feel great and this is one area where it depends on personal preference.
Both the phones have a similar quad-camera setup on the rear. Both have a 64MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera and two 2MP macro and depth cameras. However, the difference between the two phones comes in the type of camera sensor used. The Poco X2 uses the Sony IMX686 sensor whereas the Realme X2 uses the Samsung GW1 sensor. The Poco X2 uses a 20MP + 2MP depth sensor dual camera setup on the front. The Realme X2 uses one 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture on the front. Although both phones provide good camera performance for this price segment, the Poco X2 with its Sony IMX686 sensor gets the nod with slightly better performance as compared to the Realme X2.
The Poco X2 has a beefier battery than its rival with 4500 mAh capacity and comes with 25W fast charging capability. You can easily use it for a full day in a single charge. The Realme X2 offers a smaller battery with 4000 mAh capacity but it comes with the VOOC 4.0 30W fast-charging system that can charge the phone faster than it's rival can.
The Poco X2 is priced aggressively and starts at INR 15,999 for its base variant (6GB RAM/64GB storage). Other options for the Poco X2 include a 6GB RAM/128GB variant priced at INR 16,999 and the 8GB RAM/256GB variant for INR 19,999.
The Realme X2, which came out in December 2019, starts at INR 16,999 for its base variant (4GB RAM/64 GB storage). Other options include a 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage variant priced at INR 18,999 and the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant priced at INR 19,999.
In terms of availability, since the Realme X2 has already been out for a while, the Realme X2 gets the nod. You can get the Realme X2 on multiple platforms like Flipkart, Amazon and the Realme official website. On the other hand, the Poco X2 will only be available from February 11 on Flipkart.
Both phones are more or less similar spec wise but the Poco X2 gets a slight edge over the Realme X2 in terms of the pricing. It costs 1000 rupees less than its rival while providing more RAM, a 120Hz display and a beefier battery. The Realme X2 is no slouch either and you can go for this phone if you like an AMOLED display, faster charging, in-display fingerprint scanner and a better design.
