DIMAPUR — A 45-50 year old unidentified man (non-Naga) was found dead under the flyover near the parcel office at Dimapur Railway Station on Monday morning.

An update from the Dimapur Police mentioned that a written memo was received by the Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) from the station manager of NF Railway, Dimapur, at around 9:30 am regarding the same.

Accordingly, the duty party rushed to the site, recovered the body, and an inquest was conducted. Neither an identification card nor a mobile phone were discovered on the individual. It is presumed that he may have been a beggar and succumbed to illness and starvation.

The man was described as wearing black jeans, a black jacket, a dark green t-shirt and a white striped shirt. After completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.

Claimants, relatives or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, GRPS Dimapur, on mobile 7085055021.
