NSF Trophy: United FC Piphema storm into semi-final by defeating Asüfü Football Academy

KOHIMA — United FC Piphema stormed into the semi-finals of the 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy by defeating Asüfü Football Academy in a thrilling contest at the IG Stadium in Kohima on Saturday.

Razoukhrielie (13) gave United FC Piphema the lead by finding the back of the net in the 39th minute of the game but Asüfü FA equalised after D. Chozüulio Paokhamoi (13) scored in the 47th minute.

With the match tied 1:1 after a gruelling 90-minute play, Ayim Mongba (7) of United FC Piphema scored the game-winning goal in the 30-minute extra time to defeat Asüfü FA with a 2:1 scoreline after the final whistle.

Niezokhoto Belho, former General Secretary and Tribunal General of ASU, gave away the Man of the Match award to Kevichütuo Kire (1) of United FC Piphema for his performance.

F4C Academy and Red Scars FC will take on each other in the fourth quarter-final on Monday at 5 pm.
