New Karimganj Railway Station to be revamped

DIMAPUR — World class modern amenities will be provided to New Karimganj railway station in Assam, as it has been selected for revamping under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of INR 30 crore.

Updating this, the NF Railways said that the Karimganj railway station will get anNew lighting in circulating area with other modern amenities like escalator, FOB, cafeteria, modern signages and water fountain.

“New toilet block will be built separately for male and female passengers. Improved parking facilities with beautification of circulating area are also planned. All the platforms will be provided with shelter and resurfaced with marble stone, tiles etc. for ease of movement for passengers,” read the update.

With tender be awarded, the foundation work for the new station building has already started, it added.
