DIMAPUR — The senior Pencak Silat team representing Nagaland University at the All India Inter-University Games emerged victorious by winning one gold, one silver (team), and three bronze medals. The event was held at the Guru Nanak University in Amritsar, Punjab, from January 25 to to 27th.

According to an update from the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association (NPSA), Kitenlo K. Thono won gold in the tanding event, and Liike Kibami won silver. Avikali V. Sheqi and Hatneinem Khongsai won bronze in the Team Regu event, while Kevin and Edwina Lhinghoithem Hangal also bagged silvers in the tanding and tunggal events, respectively.

The players, who are members of the association, are from Livingstone Foundation International College, Tetso College, Salesian College, Dimapur Government College, and Pranabananda Women’s College.

They have left an indelible mark for the first time on the canvas of the All India Inter-University Games, setting the stage for even greater accomplishments in the future, the NPSA stated.
