Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Nagaland detected 72 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, pushing the state’s tally to 29,554.
The state’s death toll remained the same at 595 with no fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, while the comulative recoveries rose to 27,099 after 108 patients recuperated from the disease.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the fresh cases detected on Saturday, 34 were in Kohima, 25 in Dimapur, six in Mokokchung, three in Phek, two in Peren, and one each in Tuensang and Wokha.
On Saturday, 36 patients recovered in Kohima, 33 in Dimapur, 15 in Mokokchung, nine in Tuensang, seven in Longleng, five in Wokha, and three in Peren.
Nagaland currently has 994 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 769 are asymptomatic, 175 mild, 23 moderate on oxygen, 15 severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator and seven in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur as the highest number with 369 active cases, followed by Kohima with 262, 220 in Mokokchung, 39 in Zunheboto, 22 in Mon, 21 in Wokha, 17 in Kiphire, 15 in Peren, 10 in Longleng, nine in Tuensang, and 10 in Phek.
India reported 34,457 Covid-19 cases on Saturday pushing India's tally to 3,23,93,286, while the number of active cases declined to 3,61,340, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
It said that the death toll climbed to 4,33,964 with 375 fresh fatalities.
Meanwhile, the recovery of 36,347 patients in the last 24 hours increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,15,97,982.
Moreover, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 57.61 crore (57,61,17,350) through 64,01,385 sessions.
