Nagaland reports 64 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths; tally rises to 28875

Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN):
As many as 64 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected in Nagaland on Wednesday, taking the state’s tally to 28875. The death toll also increased to 577 with six patients succumbing to the disease.

The department of Health and Family Welfare updated that 22 new Covid cases were reported in Dimapur in the last 24 hours, 15 in Mokokchung, eight in Kohima, five each in Longleng and Wokha, hour in Mon, three in Zunheboto and two in Tuensang.

It added that the state registered 78 recoveries, out of which 32 were in Kohima, 16 in Dimapur, 13 in Mokokchung, six in Mon, five in Kiphire, and three each in Longleng and Tuensang.

38353 new cases in India

Meanwhile, India reported 38,353 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 3,20,36,511 (3.20 crore) while active caseload decreased to 3,86,351 (3.86 lakh), lowest in 140 days, following 40,013 recoveries, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The country’s death toll has climbed to 4,29,179 with 497 new fatalities and the cumulative recoveries has increased to 3,12,20,981 (3.12 crore) at 97.45% recovery rate.

The Health ministry also updated that India’s current weekly positivity rate 2.34% and daily positivity rate at 2.16%.
