Nagaland Congress expels its working president

DIMAPUR — The executive committee of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Saturday expelled its working president Bobby Panicker from the Congress membership, for a period of six years with immediate effect.

The action was taken after an emergency meeting of the state unit’s executive committee on Saturday.

NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir, in an order, stated that the decision to expel Panicker was taken based on the recommendation of the disciplinary action committee (DAC) and in exercise of the power conferred under “Disciplinary Rules of Rule 6 (b) of the Indian National Congress (INC) constitution and rules.”
