Our Correspondent Mokokchung, Oct. 16 (EMN): A community hall for Anentzubo Mepu, a sector in Mokokchung village, was inaugurated on Wednesday, in Mokokchung district. The community hall was inaugurated by member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA), Dr Ngangshi K Ao, in the presence of Mokokchung Village Council members, and representatives from adjoining areas of Mokokchung. The MLA called Mokokchung village a unique village where a ‘federal system’ exists. He was referring to the nature of the village’s expansion as more people from different walks of life come and settle there, which has led to creation of new sectors. Ao encouraged the people from different communities living in various areas of Mokokchung to become ‘son of the soil of Mokokchung village’ and respect the authority of the council. He urged them to support and work together for the welfare of the village. Ao lamented that ‘today the Naga society has turned into a materialistic society’ and has reached a stage of confusion where people cannot follow common goals. In this regard, the MLA advised the people that to get out from the mess, the Naga people need to be humble and focus on working toward creating a better society. The council chairman of Mokokchung village, and chairmen from six sectors and of Sungkomen ward also spoke at the programme. According to the construction committee’s report, approximately INR 18 lakh was the expense that went into constructing the building. The basement of the building is to be used as an Anganwadi centre while the first floor will be the community hall.
