DIMAPUR — The Mekokla Students' Union (MSU) held its 72nd annual session on Wednesday at Mekokla village public ground with Eliyamo Yanthan, VDB secretary, as the special invitee and PB Sen Yanthan as the theme speaker.

Speaking at the programme, Yanthan challenged the students to be responsible in all round development of the village and urged them to be active in promoting peace and development in the village.

Speaking on the theme “Enumero Conflab: the current context in Mekokla village," the theme speaker emphasised on the importance of spreading love and unity in the society. He lamented that the culture of love, peace and unity being passed on by the forefathers have long been replaced by hatred, disunity, division in both the society and the church.

He also challenged the villagers and the students to be proactive in restoring peace and harmony in the village.

The literary session began with an invocation prayer said by James Yanthan, catechist of St. Paul Catholic Church, while the prayer of blessing for the students was said by Rev. Dr. LL Kikon, pastor of Mekokla Baptist Church. The event concluded with a benediction said by Bentsolo A Kikon.
