Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): The Maram Thangal tribe has extended its unflinching support to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks and urged for the logical solution.
An press release made available to the media on Saturday by the Maram Thangal Council (MTC) Publicity wing informed that in its joint consultative meeting held on October 24 at the Katomei village multi-purpose hall had “voiced an unequivocal support to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks and urged for logical solution.”
The meeting was called by the MTC, a conglomeration of two tribe — Maram and Thangal.
A mass spoken prayer led by Rev. R K Cheijinba, executive secretary of TBNA was pronounced especially for the leaders who are involved in the crucial peace talks, it informed.
During the meeting, Maram Union President K Raisong, Thangal Union President Kaping, national workers leaders of Maram Thangal region, ex-MLAs and intellectuals shared their views and ideas on the Indo-Naga peace talks, present prevailing scenario, strengthening peace, harmony and unity
After intense deliberations, the members present unanimously resolved to extend unflinching support to the Naga negotiators and Indo-Naga peace talks and urged for the early solution.
It also resolved to welcome any honourable, inclusive, logical and acceptable solution to the vexed Indo-Naga political talks.
The house further decided to stand united and extend full support to any leaders or individuals who work and stand in the interest and welfare of the people.
The meeting was attended by Maram and Thangal Union executives, national workers, ranks and files from MaramThangal region, present and former ADC members, Ex-MLAs, intellectuals, Maram Thangal Women Union, student leaders (MKS and TAJ), Church leaders (MRNBA, TNBA, MACA, CRC) and leaders from different zone.
