DIMAPUR — Life Ministry Learning Centre (LMLC) organised one-day training on ‘Nutritious kitchen garden’ for the second cohort with 20 participants from Aoyim and Old Showba villages, on July 14.
The training was sponsored by NABARD, an update stated.
B Nyenghong Phom (Rtd. Additional Director, Agriculture dept.), the main resource person of the training, highlighted on the benefits of kitchen garden for a healthy living, and gave practical steps on how to maintain a nutritious kitchen garden in one's backyard.
A kitchen garden is not only economically viable, but freshly plucked vegetable and fruits contain more nutrition without harmful pesticides, and it can also be a source of exercise and education for the children, he said.
