KSA demands release of pending salaries to venture school teachers in Karbi Anglong

Protesting the pending salaries of venture schools for the teachers of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong, the Karbi Students Association (KSA- Samson Teron faction) Diphu District Committee organised a two-hour demonstration in front of Samson Sing Ingti Memorial Park in Diphu on Friday.

Protesting against the failure on payment of  11 months salaries to teachers of venture schools, the student leaders shouted anti-slogans like, ‘Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma go back,’ ‘Education Minister go back,’  ‘Education Executive Member (EM), KAAC go back, and Chief Executive Member  Tuliram Ronghang go back.’

President of the KSA, central committee, Samson Teron said, ‘today we have launched a sit-in to show our strong resentment against the KAAC for non-payment of salaries to all teachers under venture schools in Karbi Anglong.’

Teron also said, ‘we strongly urge the KAAC authority to release the pending salaries to the teachers of venture schools within this month.’

He also said the sit-in is not for the sake of movement, but for the cause of teachers as teachers are real guides and motivators in moulding the future of society by imparting education to children.

Teron said if their demands are not fulfilled, a strong democratic movement will be launched in the coming days. Diphu, Feb. 10 (EMN)
