DIMAPUR — The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is currently undertaking the construction of a 2-lane road with a hard shoulder on the Kohima-Jessami road (NH-29, Old NH-150) in Nagaland, which has seen an 18-month delay.
This project spans approximately 22.70 kilometre from Km 53.220 (near Kikruma Village) to Km 76.320 (near Mesulumi Village), in Phek district, and was originally scheduled for completion by June 30, 2022.
According to an update on the NHIDCL’s official X handle, it is taking up the ‘Constructing to Connect’ project, in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode (Package III) under National Highways (Original) 2019-20.
Notably, as per the current project status report available on the NHIDCL portal, the project was awarded on March 23, 2020, and the appointed date was July 1, 2020. It was sanctioned at a cost of INR 365.42 crore, with the original schedule for completion set for June 30, 2022.
At present, a total of INR 206.27 crore has been awarded so far, and the cumulative financial progress is stated to be 70.26%.
With 70.01% cumulative physical progress made so far, the new date of completion for the project, as per the status report, is March 31, 2024.
