Dimapur, April 25 (EMN): Temjenchuba Jamir, who was fondly called by the people as ‘Kishore Kumar of Nagaland’, passed away on Monday morning, April 25 in Delhi after a long battle with cancer.
Jamir was diagnosed with oral cancer in the year 2014 and since been spreading awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use on health.
Condolences have poured in for the singer on his Facebook page (Chuba Cj).
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton took to Twitter to condole the demise of the popular singer from the state.
Describing Jamir as a gifted man with an indomitable spirit, Patton said the deceased will be an inspiration forever and his contributions to music will never be forgotten. “Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace!” he wrote.
Task Force for Music and Arts also tweeted: “TaFMA along with the rest of the music and arts fraternity of Nagaland mourn the loss of Chuba Jamir. We express our deepest condolences to his wife and family members and pray that his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.”
