DIPHU — In a function held at Rangsina Sarpo Auditorium, Lorulangso, Diphu, the Art and Culture Department of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) distributed hand hoes, sword and shields for use in Karbi folk dances.
The accessories for the Karbi folk dance were distributed among various zones of the Karbi Cultural Society (KCS). The initiative was in keeping with the golden jubilee celebration of the Karbi Youth Festival, scheduled for next year in the month of January.
Interacting with the media after the distribution ceremony, the Executive Member of KAAC, Art and Culture, Surya Rongphar, said the council did not have much funds but distributed some equipment last year and this year they are doing the same. As per Rongphar, Taralangso has seen development under the KAAC and the leadership of the Chief Executive Member of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang.
He further stated that there were naysayers who said that KCS had sold itself to KAAC but KCS has stayed in its place and KAAC is doing its job. Rongphar added that they can accomplish things if they work together.
