Indian Railways releases new time table for passenger trains

Journey time of 55 trains reduced under NFR

Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): The Indian Railways has released its new all India time table for passenger carrying trains which will be effective from October 1.

An update from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) issued on Sep. 29 informed that the timings of many scheduled or special trains at originating, terminating stations and stoppages have been revised while some trains have been speeded up to reduce the journey time.

Under NFR, as many as 55 trains have reduced the time journeys ranging from 15 minutes to 155 minutes.

Some important trains include 12423 (Dibrugarh Town – New Delhi Rajdhani Express) which has been reduced by 20 minutes, 13281 (Dibrugarh – Rajendranagar Express) by 90 minutes, 15754 (Guwahati – Alipurduar Jn. Express) by 80 minutes, 12424 (New Delhi – Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express) by 55 minutes, 13181 (Kolkata – Silghat Town Kaziranga Express) by 75 minutes, 15478 (Gomtinagar – Kamakhya Express) by 60 minutes, 15417 (Alipurduar Jn. – Silghat Town Rajya Rani Express) by 65 minutes, 15629 (Tambaram – Silghat Town Nagaon Express) by 65 minutes, 15647 (Lokmanya Tilak – Guwahati Express) by 70 minutes, 15904 (Chandigarh – Dibrugarh Express) by 155 minutes and 20504 (New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express) by 50 minutes, etc.

The arrival and departure timings at Guwahati are also said to have been changed for trains like 12504 (Agartala – SMVT Bengaluru Humsafar Express), 12423 (Dibrugarh Town – New Delhi Rajdhani Express), 12516 (Silchar – Coimbatore Express), 13281 (Dibrugarh - Rajendranagar Express), 12424 (New Delhi – Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express), 15933 (New Tinsukia – Amritsar Express), 15645 (Lokmanya Tilak – Dibrugarh Express) and 15910 (Lalgarh – Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express), etc.

The departure timings of 15613 (Guwahati – Murkongselek Lachit Express) and 15754 (Guwahati – Alipurduar Jn. Shifung Express) has been changed at Guwahati while the departure timings from New Jalpaiguri of 13245 (New Jalpaiguri – Rajendranagar Capital Express) and 15703 (New Jalpaiguri - Bongaigaon) have also been changed.

The departure time from Alipuduar Jn. of 15768 (Alipurduar Jn. – Siliguri Jn. Express) and 15417 (Alipurduar Jn. – Silghat Town Rajya Rani Express) have been changed and the departure time from Katihar of 13034 (Katihar – Howrah Express) has also been changed.

Also, the departure timings of various intercity passenger trains are also said to have been changed at Siliguri, Guwahati, Ledo, etc.

It is expected that the new timings will help in better train operations over NFR while passengers have been requested to verify the details of train running status and schedule on a real time basis at National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before undertaking their journey.
