GBUD(S) inducts 7 GBs as members of NCLJC

DIMAPUR — The GB Union Dimapur (Sadar) has officially inducted seven GBs as members of the Naga Customary Law and Judiciary Committee (NCLJC), on May 22.

In a press release, the GBUD(S) informed that these GBs shall shoulder the responsibilities to solve different cases under the ambit of the Naga customary laws and practices within its jurisdiction. The NCLJC court under GBUD(S) shall function at the union’s customary court office, Zakiesato colony, Dimapur.

The union informed the public to avail the services of the NCLJC court “for equality in true justice for all.”

In a separate press communiqué, the GBUD(S) urged all the intending candidates of the upcoming urban local body (ULB) elections to preserve the sanctity of peaceful electioneering atmosphere, affirming the spirit of clean election movement.

The union affirmed that it will strongly oppose inter-ward proxy vote casting, intimidations, muscle power and lure of money. It also cautioned that no individuals or group should incite disharmony and division among different tribes and communities within Dimapur Sadar area.

“GB members of the union shall monitor and coordinate alongside with the district administration and law enforcing agencies to ensure free, fair and peaceful ULB elections in all the 23 wards under Dimapur Municipal Council,” it stated.

Further, the GB Union Dimapur(S) wished all the ULB intending candidates, adding that it expects to see a “better Dimapur.”
