DIMAPUR — Noksen block of the Agricultural Technology Management Authority (ATMA) in Tuensang district conducted training and demonstration programme on integrated nutrient management in Longtang village on June 29.

An update from ATMA stated that the training was conducted by Lopanghong (AFA), wherein he explained its objectives and components in detail.

A demonstration was also conducted on ‘Organic waste decomposer,’ where resource person Longmatula (ATM) gave hands-on training on preparation of waste decomposer formulation and its mass multiplication. She explained the purpose of organic waste decomposer and its benefits on soil health and seed treatment.

Report stated that waste decomposers were distributed to the farmers.

An outreach program on use of fermented organic manure (FOM) was also conducted where the farmers were briefed on the benefits of FOM and encouraged to build low-cost structure where they could make their own fermented liquid manure.

Altogether, 16 farmers and ATMA officials participated in the programme.
