TUENSANG — On the third day of the ongoing inter-district football tournament, Dr. T Ao Trophy 2024, five matches were played at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground in Tuensang.
Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Tuensang, and Phek emerged victorious in their respective games, while the match between Peren and Kohima ended in a 4-4 draw.
In the first match between Peren and Kohima, Kenumoi Siarau scored twice for Peren, with Lamsanggin and Winamthiu each adding a goal in the second half. For Kohima, Nipusizo Nagi, Neiselo Peseyie, Noulevietuo Pienyo, and Noune Modeze each scored one goal.
In the second match between Shamator and Zunheboto, Zunheboto secured a 4-2 victory. Vinato scored three goals for Zunheboto in the 30th, 34th, and 55th minutes, while Ghuqhe added another in the 24th. For Shamator, Tsurito M and Nungshimar each scored once.
Mokokchung won the third match of the day, defeating Kiphire 5-0. Nusu scored once, while Sentilong netted a hat-trick. Limakumzuk and Suponglemba scored the remaining goals in the first and 28th minutes, respectively.
The home team, Tuensang, won the fourth match of the day against Longleng with a 2-0 scoreline. Dongehanglen and Balen Yemjong scored the goals for Tuensang.
In the last match between Dimapur and Phek, Phek emerged victorious with a 2-0 win. Yhoto Lohe and Kenuzo Venuh scored the goals for Phek.
