DC Mokokchung issues travel advisory; vehicular movement on Dikhu Bridge restricted

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsüvisie Phoji has issued a travel advisory, restricting the movement of all heavy vehicles on the Dikhu Bridge along the Mokokchung-Noksen (Tuensang) road, via Longmisa village, from November 13 to the 26th.

The restriction has been imposed to facilitate repairing works as a portion of the deck slab of the bridge was damaged, posing great danger to the lives and property of the general public, informed the DC.

Only light vehicles carrying passengers and luggage will be allowed to ply on this stretch of road during the stipulated period.

Further, EAC Ongpangkong, will coordinate to ensure that the restriction of movement of all heavy vehicles is adhered to, stated the advisory. “Noncompliance shall invite penal action as per the relevant section of the law,” it added.
