Classic Cup 25th edition to start in November

(EM Images)[/caption] Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 16 (EMN): The 25th edition of Classic Cup will be held at Khuochiezie, Kohima local ground from November 4 to the 24th on the theme, “Together we can”. This was announced by the organisers at a press conference held at Cafe Aurora, Kohima on Wednesday. The prize money for the champion of the tournament is INR 3 lakh, an increase from the previous INR 1.5 lakh owing to the jubilee year. The runners-up will receive INR. 2 lakh while the losing semi-finalists will get INR. 50,000 each. The team that participated the most in the tournament, including the jubilee year will be awarded with INR 25,000. The club also added that there will be prize for best discipline team, most loveable player, best referee and best photoshoot/picture. The player of the tournament will be awarded with a motorbike and a bicycle each for best goal keeper, best defender, best midfielder, best forward, and highest scorer. The selection criteria for the best referee award will be decided team coaches while the best discipline team will be adjudged by the management and tournament officials and for the most loveable player will be decided the audience through vote. For the best photoshoot/picture, two photos will be allowed per person and it should be taken between first match till the semi-final matches. The club members also informed that the tournament will be a ‘single-use plastic-free tournament’ and differently-ablepersons, senior citizens and students in uniform will be given free access. Registration form for the tournament will be available till October 28 at M/s Sport World opposite Baroda Bank in Kohima, Ms. Vaude Villa, Dzűvűrű opposite Belho Gas Service, Kohima and M/s Global Sports Dr. KK Angam complex, Midland opposite Oking Hospital Kohima.
