DIMAPUR — The Chathe Dazzlers emerged as the champions of the third edition of the Women's Champions Trophy in a thrilling final held at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, outplaying the Tizu Warriors by 37 runs.
Vipeni Awomi secured the Player of the Match title in the final with an impressive all-round performance. She scored 38 runs and took 3 wickets for 18 runs, leading the Dazzlers to a total of 150 for 8. Najmeen provided valuable support, scoring 51 runs off 69 balls.
The Warriors, despite their efforts, were bowled out for 113. Elina Muru was the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 51 runs.
Ayieno Kechü, media secretary to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, attended the closing ceremony, in which several outstanding individual performances were recognised.
Najmeen Khatun of the Chathe Dazzlers was named Player of the Tournament, having scored 201 runs and taken 7 wickets. Khatun also received the Best Batter award. Priyanka Karmakar of the Zungki Slingers received the Best Bowler award for her 7 wickets in 3 matches. Jyoti Thapa of the Dikhu Strikers was recognised as the Best Wicket Keeper.
