DIMAPUR — The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland, Vyasan R has called upon all the political parties to extend cooperation for successful conduct of the Special Summary Revision 2024 exercise and bye-election to the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency.
The CEO stated this during a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties in the state on October 20 in connection with Special Summary Revision of photo electoral roll with reference to January 1, 2024, as qualifying date. An update from the office of CEO stated that the joint CEO and assistant CEO were also present in the meeting.
It stated that the CEO’s team highlighted the legal provisions of revision exercise and briefly explained the schedule of the ongoing special summary revision during the meeting. The political parties were encouraged to appoint their booth level agent (BLA) to assist the electoral machinery in bringing out an authentic and error-free photo electoral roll for smooth conduct of elections.
The party representatives were also provided with copies of relevant forms and the Election Commission’s instructions relevant to the revision process.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The CEO also informed that with the announcement for bye-election to 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency on November 13, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has become operational in entire Mon district. He informed the political parties that committees at the state-level under the CEO as well as district-level under the District Election Officer (DEO)/ Returning Officer are in place to oversee the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
He, therefore, called upon all political parties to extend cooperation for the successful conduct of the Special Summary Revision 2024 exercise and the bye-election to the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency.
