DIMAPUR — The 24 Assam Rifles on January 28 seized about 90,000 banned tablets (drugs) estimated to be valued at over INR 13 crore the boundary of Jriibam-Tamenglong districts of Manipur, one of the largest seizers in the area.

According to the press release from the Assam Rifles, the recovered drugs, a methamphetamine substance which has been one of most trafficked drugs in recent times and has become a serious societal menace, were handed over to Manipur Police.

Assam Rifles is maintaining strict vigilance and continuously monitoring and undertaking operations to prevent smuggling of war like stores and narcotics substances in its war against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, said the statement.
