DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised the 'A day with company commander' programme for the students of Northfield School in Kohima on Saturday, focusing on the theme 'Empowering youth, empowering nation'.

According to a press release, a total of 60 students, including 45 boys and 15 girls, along with four teachers from the school, attended the programme. The event featured a variety of activities, such as sapling plantation at Martyr Rifleman (late) T Gokil Singh, SM nursery, self-defence techniques, a football match, a tug-of-war competition, and fun activities like Kho Kho and a blind hit game.

Additionally, there was a demonstration on life-saving skills by a medical officer.

In Zunheboto, the force conducted a security meeting with leaders of civil society organisations in Zunheboto town on Saturday. During the meeting, important aspects related to security and mutual understanding were discussed.

The meeting highlighted the understanding between Assam Rifles and local leaders in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment in the area, it said.

Furthermore, Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Phomching village in Mon district on the same day, benefiting a total of 157 individuals, including 30 males, 89 females, and 38 children.

During the camp, a lecture on following a healthy lifestyle, general medicines, including bruise treatment, was given to the local populace.
