Advisor Wangpang Konyak assigned Social Welfare department

KOHIMA — Newly elected member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, advisor Wangpang Konyak has been assigned the Department of Social Welfare.

In a notification on Monday, the Cabinet Secretariat stated that the chief minister is "pleased to assign" the Social Welfare Department to Wangpang Konyak with "immediate effect."

Konyak recently took oath as an advisor to the Government of Nagaland, which was administered by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

While thanking the chief minister for the new assignment, Konyak assured to carry out his duties to the best.

Wangpang Konyak from the NDPP won the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency by-poll in November last year, following the demise of then sitting NDPP MLA Noke Wangnao, who was also the advisor of Social Welfare department.
