Kohima, Aug. 27 (EMN): The Aadhaar service centre in the DC’s office complex, Kohima, remain closed since the enforcement of the nationwide lockdown to combat the outbreak of Covid-19 in the state.
Office assigned to deal with PAN card, Aadhaar card and others located within the office of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, is yet to resume its normal function ever since it was closed following the nationwide lockdown induced by the global Covid-19 outbreak.
Interestingly, a poster pasted at the grille door says that only one applicant would be allowed inside the office. Another poster stated that applicants could apply for Aadhaar card but should maintain distance.
It was learned that many applicants, who came to the office for applying the facilities, were turned away on several occasions.
When asked why the office continues to remain closed despite informing the applicants to apply for Aadhaar cards, a staff working in the same complex, it hasn’t resumed office since the lockdown began on March 25.
