37th National Games: Manipur win 4 gold, 4 silver on day-9

IMPHAL — Manipur clinched eight medals including four gold and four silver medals from cycling, sepak takraw and wushu disciplines on Friday, the ninth day of the ongoing 37th National Games hosted by Goa.

With the latest medal haul, Manipur’s medal tally stands at 16 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze medals, till the filing of the report.

Cyclist Yanglem Rojit, who opened Manipur's account in cycling with a silver medal by finishing second in the 10,000 m, also bagged a gold in men’s 1000m sprint.

The state’s five-member women team comprising of Kh Rejiya, I Matouleibi, T Monorama, M Sonali and N Anita, also won gold medal in women’s 4 km team pursuit competition.

The state’s sepak takraw team also won two gold and two silver medals, while two silver medals came from wushu.
