KOHIMA — Dihoma village hosted the second edition of the Dihoma-Mima friendship meet on Saturday, with over 1500 people from both villages gathering at the Dihoma village local ground, Kohima.

The event had Vipulhou Lhoungu, director of Technical Education, as the chief guest, who emphasised the importance of genuine connections and urged both villages to take their friendship beyond mere formalities and celebratory events.

The chief guest also extended a challenge to both communities to support each other during challenging times, emerging as examples of prosperity and unity for neighbouring villages. He proposed jointly sponsoring two missionaries to propagate the gospel and contribute to the greater glory of God.

A tug-of-war competition, featuring teams comprising members from both villages, was also part of the event. The match was played between bachelors versus married men and bachelorettes versus married women.

Both the married men and married women teams emerged victorious in their respective categories.
