Zunheboto RBSK team screens 833 children

Dimapur, May 21 (EMN): Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team under the office of the Chief Medical Office (CMO), Zunheboto, has screened 833 children for 4Ds – Defect at birth, Deficiencies, Developmental delay and diseases.
The screening was conducted during its visit to Aghunato, Satami, Aquba Old-New, Lukhuyi, Lizutomi, Aghuyili, Aghilito villages from May 15-20. The team conducted screening at one Government Higher Secondary School, three Government Middle Schools, seven Government Primary Schools and 14 Anganwadi centres.

RBSK programme is aimed at early detecting and managing 30 identified health conditions prevalent in children. The services were provided to children from 0 to 6 years of age in rural areas and urban slums in addition to children enrolled from Classes I to XII to government aided schools.

During the tour, the team attended to 58 dental carries,13 respiratory infections, 21 skin condition like scabies, fungal infection, 18 substance abuse, nine Otitis media, four vision impairment, two hearing impairment, 14 delay menstruation, 29 pain during menstruation, one stunted growth. Altogether 19 children were also treated with Vitamin A deficiency.

Health talk on personal hygiene, adolescent health and importance of immunisation were conducted during the tour.
The RBSK team was led by Dr. Shikatoli Achumi, Dr. Liza Aye, Kakiye Swu, SHP Co-ordinator and Akali Chishi, ANM.
