Dimapur, August 14 (EMN): Deputy Superintendent of Nagaland Police (special branch) Atu Zumvu is to be awarded with the President’s Police Medal for meritorious service, on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day at the Secretariat Plaza in Kohima.

The senior police officer was also recognised by the Data Security Council of India for solving the first case of cyber crime officially registered in Nagaland in the year 2011.

Also, he was awarded with the military gallantry medal Shaurya Chakra by the president of India during the defence investiture ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi in 2017.

In an interaction with Eastern Mirror on Wednesday Zumvu said he wasn’t certain about the award initially.

‘I feel really great. Actually I was not sure whether I will be conferred with this prestigious award even though my department and Home department had nominated my name to the ministry of Home Affairs,’ the police officer said.

‘My morale is high and I look forward to giving concerted efforts in my job to serve the department in the interest of public service.’
