Kohima, April 29 (EMN): Two years since releasing her first book, 12-year old Sochumlo Suki Ezung has now released her second book ‘Suki’s Spacecraft.’ The book is published Penthrill Publication House.

‘Suki’s Spacecraft’ is a story of six young girls who fight ‘talent mutants,’ Alvera and his robots, to save their school, which is the place chosen by Albert Einstein during his time travel.’

The book was released by Chief Secretary Temjen Toy at the Made in Nagaland Centre, on April 29 in Kohima.
The government officer said that it was time to celebrate the talents that Nagaland has.
Suki has broken barriers and has ‘given us hope,’ he said. He was inspired by the ‘excellent’ book which has ‘so much’ in it.

The chief secretary congratulated Suki and wished her more publications in the future.
The young author Ezung was of the view that it was time for the people of Nagaland to be ‘open to the books written by the children.’

The characters in the book are inspired by lives of real people, with the story setting being a school, the author said.
However, it is more than just about a school building and students. The actual meaning is about how special each one of us is, Ezung said. ‘It’s about being brave and bold.’

Saying that courage comes from within, she wondered as to ‘whether we are helping children to find that courage or instilling fears in them.’

Ezung thanked her parents for their support and attributed God for being the source of all inspiration. She hoped that the book would ignite the imagination of children.

Ezung dedicated her book to her friends and to G Rio School in Kohima, where she studies.
Publisher Vishü Rita Krocha claimed Ezung has ‘raised the standard of writing for all aspiring writers.’ She has ‘given rise to a new breed of generation of writers.’

‘She has immensely grown as a young author and set a benchmark for herself,’ Krocha explained.
“Her book, ‘Suki’s Spacecraft,’ talks about the courage of six young girls who fight their way through a lot of hurdles, and did not mind sacrificing what they value the most in order to save their school from being completely destroyed,” Krocha said.

She was of the view that people tend to brush aside children’s books or books written by child authors. Yet, there is so much one can take away from them, she said.

The headmistress of Dayspring Pre-School in Kohima, Lanu Vihienuo, gave comments to the book. The theme of the story shifts between the past and the present, which makes it ‘very interesting’ interplay. It encompasses history to present day, she said.

Vihienuo termed the style of writing “very vivid” and the narration ‘engaging.’
The characters have been drawn out real, she said. The imagination is clearly visible, simple and yet offers a relevant message to readers, the headmistress said.

Suki’s teacher Chandra described the young author as a very “jolly kid,” “playful” and a “good actor.” She was ‘versatile and very silent’ but always somewhere else planning on something, she said.
