Dimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): The Open District Badminton Championship-cum-selection of players for the inter-district tournament organised by the Wokha District Badminton Association (WDBA) at indoor badminton stadium at GHSS Colony in Wokha on the theme,” revive badminton for greater heights” was held from August 16 to the 17th.
The chief quest of the tournament, Chonpenthung Ezung, SDO Civil, Wokha, exhorted the gathering to take up badminton not only as a hobby but to aim high to excel in national as well as international level also.
According to an update from the WDBA received here no Tuesday, 50 participants took part in the two-day event in the categories from U-9 yrs to veterans.
Cash prizes along with racquets were also awarded to the winners.
