American Christian metal band Whitecross captivated music lovers in Dimapur with a long-awaited concert during which they performed live, on Tuesday at the DDSC Stadium in Dimapur.

The band’s performance was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for music fans, especially ‘80s rock fans, to witness the band perform live. The band was performing their debut concert in the country.

The American Christian metal legends are lead vocalist Peter Stenlund, guitarist Rex Carroll, drummer Michael Feighan, and bassist Benny Ramos.

Whitecross’ performance left the crowd screaming on the top of their lungs.

The band also performed one of their Contemporary Christian ballads ‘Simple Man,’ which is said to be based on the story of their guitarist Carroll. While the band concluded the concert with another of their most endearing numbers ‘In the Kingdom.’ It was the most favourite song for the crowd who had been yelling ‘In the Kingdom’ since the concert started.

Several local Christian bands performed during the event too.

The chief executive officer of investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, Alemtemshi Jamir was the guest of honour at the concert.

“Music is a gift to mankind that transcends civilization, society and the people,” Jamir said.  He expressed gratitude to the band for coming all the way from America to bridge the gap between the music generations.

Jamir appreciated the organisers for their initiative and to the crowd for being supportive.

The Whitecross concert was managed by Dimapur-based Sky Entertainment in association with Crescendo and powered by the Nagaland Bamboo Timber Unit.
