Weeklong National Girl Child Day culminates

Kohima, Jan. 26 (EMN): Phek district’s weeklong special campaign on the National Girl Child Day culminated on January 26 at Phek town.

An update informed that a stall to disseminate information was set up by the district level centre for women-Mahila Shakti Kendra, during the occasion of the 71st Republic Day in Phek.

As part of the event, paintings and photos of the special week were displayed at the stall, where also a signature campaign with the theme “Save the girl child” was also conducted on the same day.

A photo journal of an earlier event, Girls Band competition, which was conducted in all the sub-division headquarters, was officially released by the deputy commissioner of Phek, Sachin Jaiswal.

The local ‘champions’ of the campaign in the district and the winners of the open Painting competition that was conducted during the campaign were also felicitated.
