Vinoo Mankad Trophy: Nagaland defeat Meghalaya

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): Nagaland defeated its neighbouring state Meghalaya by 59 runs in the ongoing Men’s U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy on Thursday.
Nagaland chose to bat first after winning the toss and scored 244 for loss five wickets in 50 overs, informed an update from joint secretary of NCA A Rahman.

Abhishek took two wickets for Meghalaya, while Santosh and D Rajput took a wicket each.
Chasing a total of 244, Meghalaya were all out for 185 runs in 45.4 overs. D Rajput scored 87 runs and S Thapa, 50, but wickets fell at regular intervals with Nagaland bowler Ram Jangir rattling the opponents’ batting line up with three wickets, while Hopongkyu, Odilemba and Hem took two wickets apiece.

With this win, Nagaland has won two and lost one in four matches played so far. There are still six matches left to play in the ongoing tournament.
