Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on Monday stated gratefulness for the Election Commission of India’s recent decision to dismiss a petition seeking cancellation of the party.

According to a statement from the party, “The NDPP has from the very beginning maintained our stand that the party has done no wrong and that the complaint holds no ground. Today the order of the ECI has vindicated the stand of the party and the NDPP is truly grateful that truth and justice has prevailed.

“NDPP is a people’s centric party, committed on tirelessly working for the welfare of the state and its people. The party never has and never will mislead the people with rhetoric and false claims. We firmly believe and adhere to our motto ‘Facta Non Verba’ and will continue to work on the strength of the words. The NDPP is a serious and committed political party that will tirelessly work for the welfare of the people and continue to contribute towards the realisation of genuine peace and will always protect the hard earned rights and privileges of our people.”

It appreciated the decision of the ECI who, according to the party, has upheld the sanctity of the legal system of India by passing a judgement that was unbiased and fair after thorough study of the documents and after having given patient hearings to both parties.

“Ever since the filing of the complaint on 7th May 2018, the NDPP had placed its unwavering belief on the legal system of the country and never once doubted that true justice will be delivered by the ECI. This order of the ECI only further strengthens our faith on the judiciary system of India and the inviolability of the ECI.

“Now that the small distraction has been cleared, the NDPP once again reiterates its commitment to work for the development and upliftment (sic) of the state and its citizens. The party will not be distracted by rumours and false accusations, but will be steadfast towards building a new Nagaland, hand in hand with the people under the banner of transparency, accountability and good governance,” read the statement.
