Venuzo Dawhuo lifted the 28th edition of Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA) championship held at Thenyizumi village in Phek district on January 21.

Dawhuo of Thenyizumi village, who weighs 97 kg and measures 5.10 feet in height, lifted the coveted trophy for the third consecutive time and walked away with a cash prize of INR 80,000.

Meanwhile, second position holder, Besüveto Cümu of Phüsachodü village (weighs 93 kg and 6 feet tall) received INR. 60,000. Third prize winner Vekuyi Medeo from Phüsachodü village (weights 88 kg and 5.9 feet) was awarded INR 50,000 and fourth position holder Medozho Kapü of Thenyizumi village (weighs 76 kg and 5.9 feet tall) received INR 40,000.

In the under-16 category, Ozho Kezo of North Kikruma won the title and Vesayi Tetseo of K Basa got second, while Vehüto Keyho from Chetheba and Mhasezo Chuzho of Thipuzu won third and fourth prizes respectively.

Earlier in the day, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu attended the tournament as the chief guest, while the director of Nagaland State Lotteries, Zhothisa Dawhuo was the guest of honour.
