The polo team of United States of America (USA) thrashed Thailand 8-3 while England defeated Australia 9-7 goals in the 9th Manipur Polo International, 2015 played at Mapal Kangjeibung Pologround, the oldest living pologround in the world located in the heart of Imphal town on Tuesday.Earlier Manipur had trounced Thailand 17-2 on Monday.
On November 23, Manipur team from India continued their winning streak after defeating Thailand while USA registered its first win on the second day of the 9th Manipur Polo International, a part of the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival, organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA), on Monday.USA Polo team also stunned Australian Polo team 13-5 in the second match of the day.Tuesday’s compititive matches were watched by State commerce and industries Minister Gobindas Konthoujam, chairman of the Hill areas committee Dr Chaltonlien Amo, Nationalist congress party MLA L Ibomcha, Lok Jana Sakhti MLA Karam Shyam and other functionaries of the MHRPA.
Manipur-India team will meet England polo team while Australia team will play against Thailand team in tomorrow ( Nov 25)’s first and second matches of the tourney.
