Tuensang DC asks officers to report to station within 24 hrs

Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, has issued several orders to be implemented throughout the district starting March 23 in view of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

‘All officers who are out of station for various reasons other than medical ground have been asked to report to station within 24 hours. Any person/group persons acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed on offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,’ the press release read.

As per the decision taken by the Tuensang District Task Force (DTF) for monitoring and management of issues related to Covid-19, as a measure to prevent and contain the outbreak of the virus in the district, the DC Tuensang has announced that St. John’s school (both Higher Secondary/Primary Section) and Baptist Thangyem Hr. Sec. School, Tuensang have been identified as quarantine centres, the update informed.

Other directives from the district administration are:

  • All shops and business establishments except pharmacies, petrol pumps and grocery shops selling food grains, food items, vegetables, daily use items, other essential commodities and media offices shall remain closed till further orders.
  • All commercial passenger vehicles both public and private like buses, taxes, autos, two – wheeler taxis etc shall not ply till further orders.
  • Movement of all public is restricted except those coming out of their homes for procurement and distribution of essentials commodities, availing essential services, medical facilities and other basic needs.
  • All Government offices, both Central and State, except district administration, police, security forces, fire and emergency services, medical, postal services, NIC, DDMA, Power, Phed, food and civil supplies, treasury and accounts, bank/ATM shall remain closed till further orders. All other government employees should be available on call.
  • All head of departments are to remain in station and to ensure that all subordinate officers/staff are also in the station and be on standby for any exigencies.
