Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): A district-level eVIN-cum-routine immunisation refresher training for cold chain handlers and health workers was conducted in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, on November 29.

A report from the CMO office stated that the training began with a welcome speech and introduction by Dr. Kibangkumba, deputy CMO, wherein he requested the trainers to be sincere in their duties and give special attention to immunisation saying it is the backbone of the health delivery system.

The resource person of the training were Kingson Shimray, SPO, UNDP, and Imli Longkumer, UNDP project officer.

The trainers were trained on vaccine for preventable disease, planning and conducting immunisation, micro planning for immunisation and recordings, and reporting of HMIS and eVIN. They were also oriented on the cold chain and vaccine logistic management, demonstration of eVIN store app and other management module.

SPO has stressed on the urgent need for strengthening of routine immunisation activities to achieve 90% since Nagaland was at bottom on the list comparing to other north eastern states.
