Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): Stating that the Naga society is now sliding back in almost all aspects, Nagaland’s Lok Sabha member Tokheho Yeputhomi has urged the public and the church to work together to take the people forward into a brighter future.

Tokheho Yeputhomi stated this during his address at the general session of the Kulolau Yeputhomi Kuqkahulu (KKK) that was conducted at S Vihuto village on December 17. Representatives of the Yeputhomi clan from various villages attended the programme.

Yeputhomi advised the people to not always claim for their rights but be accommodative in the spirit of ‘give and take,’ an update from the organisers on Tuesday stated.

Also, commissioner-secretary Y Kikheto Sema welcomed the manner in which different clans within the Sumi community had formed their respective association but had come together on a common platform.

He discouraged marriages within clans and said that there were also advantages of inter-tribal marriages. Pointing out the adverse effect of clanism and tribalism on the society, Kikheto called for putting an end to such mentality.
