‘The Shuttlers’ win Mokokchung badminton championship

Mokokchung, Oct. 13 (EMN): The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang (B) lifted the Mokokchung Inter-Club Badminton Championship for the second year in a row after defeating Soyim Smasher Power in the final at Indoor Badminton Stadium in Mokokchung on October 12.

As reported earlier, the championship went to the team that won four out of seven categories.

The champions walked home with a cash prize of INR 50,000 plus a shield and certificates; while the runner-up received INR 30,000 with certificates.  The most valuable male player and the most valuable female player went to Sentiyatet and Yalemjungla respectively.

14. Under-13 Boy’s Single: Ritom (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) beat Rohit (Soyim Smasher Power) 16-21; 21-16; 21-14.
15. 35+ Men’s Veteran: Along & Tongpang (Soyim Smasher Power) beat Nochet & Obang (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) 21-19; 21-13

III. Under-15 Girl’s Single: Ankita (Soyim Smasher Power) beat Imlikumla (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) 21-11; 21-7

1. Under-15 Boy’s Doubles: Wapangmeren & Deepesh (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) beat Noel & Kiran (Soyim Smasher Power) 21-18; 21-16
2. Men’s Single: Riku (Soyim Smasher Power) beat Neehal (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) 21-6; 21-7
3. 35+ Veteran: Bijoy & Yanger (The Shuttlers, Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) beat Khannganung & Dr. Wati (Soyim Smasher Power) 18-21; 21-13; 21-17

VII. Mixed Doubles: Narola & Kilang (The Shuttlers Chuchuyimpang ‘B’) beat Ajungla & Honeyson (Soyim Smasher Power) 21-15; 21-10.
