Wokha, Jan. 14 (EMN): Tritons CC and Hercules CC registered win at the ongoing 24th edition of T20 WCC on Tuesday at Local Ground Wokha.
Forest Sporting Club elected to bat first after winning the toss and put up a target of 104 run in 18.3 overs with Mhonthung scoring 30 runs, Yanvungthung 21 and Chenibemo 15. Tritons CC’s bowling attack was led by Chubameren (four wickets), Bitesi (three wickets), Mynual (one wicket) and Aloto (one wicket).
Chasing a low total, Tritons CC reached the target with 15 balls to spare. Wapang (33 runs), Temsutemjen (29 runs), Aloto (14 runs) and Bikram (10 runs) were the main contributors for the team.
Tritons CC won the match by five wickets and Wapang was declared Man of the match.
In the second match of the day, GAPYOCC decided to bat first after winning the toss and set a target of 139 runs. Lijanbemo Patton scored 62 runs and Tapitu made 41 runs to help the team put up a decent total.
However, Daniel Gogoi of Hercules CC made the chase looked easy by scoring 50 runs from just 19 delivers, the fastest half century in the 24th edition of T20 WCC. Hercules CC reached the target in just 13.1 overs (41 balls to spare) and won the match convincingly.
Gogoi, who scored 58 runs from 22 deliveries, was adjudged the man of the match.
