Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Welcoming the new members who come to the city seeking education and job opportunities, the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bangalore (ENSUB) held its 14th annual Freshers’ Meet on the theme ‘exploring the treasures of passion in you’ at United Theological College on Sep. 22.
A press release issued by the ENSUB general secretary Martha Sangtam and media coordinator, David Chang, said that the Adila, the wife of Nagaland Minister Kashiho Sangtam, while speaking at the programme, strongly encouraged the participants on the importance of having strong determination and keeping the Naga culture alive even outside of the state.
Folk songs, special songs, display of traditional attires and speeches from the union officials and from the freshers marked the event.
During the event, Tantsukiu from Tikhir tribe and Tsukhumla from Yimchunger tribe were adjudged as Mr. and Miss Freshers’ 2018 respectively.
The release also stated that well known Nagamese singer and composer, David Konyak made a special appearance during the event and entertained the crowd with his melodious songs.
More than 500 people attended the programme, the release stated.
